FUNCTIONS & FEATURES

PLC8 series consists of a controller, I/O modules, and an end module.
■ CONTROLLER
The controller can control the I/O modules. It also generates an internal power for I/O modules.
■ I/O MODULE
I/O modules perform analog input/output, discrete input/output, etc. via the internal bus.
■ END MODULE
The end module is the terminal of internal bus.
When the end module is used with a controller and I/O modules, be sure to connect it after connecting I/O modules.
The end module is not included in the maximum number of connectable devices for the controller.
■ HOT SWAPPING
Hot swapping is not possible since internal communication and supplying the internal power are conducted through the connectors of I/O modules.
■ DIELECTRIC STRENGTH
Dielectric strength varies depending on the model. Check the specifications for each model.

CURRENT CONSUMPTION

I/O modules and end module operate by using internal power supplied from the controller and exc. supply.
Therefore, the total current consumption of the I/O modules and the end module must be within the supplied current capacity.
If the controller's power is insufficient, change the combination of I/O modules or reduce the number of I/O modules.

BASIC CONFIGURATIONS

■ CONTROLLER: PLC8-NE
When I/O modules are used, be sure to mount an end module at the terminal of I/O modules. Do not mount other I/O modules at the right of the end module.
When an end module is used, attach the protective cover provided with the controller to the end module for safety.
